This newly designed, contemporary museum's exhibition starts out from the prehistoric era, where the visitors can see 14 million years old frog fossil, furthermore, archeological and ethnographic materials clearly reflect the rich history of the people living in the Meskhetian region well interconnected with the Middle East. Through diverse artifacts the visitor receives comprehensive information on the ancient landscape and environment, metalwork, culture, rituals, the rule of burial, the foundation of the social hierarchy, paganism and Christianity. The museum houses one of the oldest versions (XVI cc) of Georgian epic poem "Night in the Panther's Skin". The ethnographic division tell the stories of wars and battles through the various Georgian, Ottoman and European weapons.
