Makhuntseti Waterfall
To reach Makhuntseti from Batumi bus station, you can use any public transport traveling on the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road towards the villages of Keda, Shuakhevi, or Khulo. Shuttle buses depart from the Old Batumi bus station approximately every hour. Inform the driver that you'd like to disembark at Makhuntseti village. Once you arrive, you'll notice a stone-arched medieval bridge named after the Georgian female ruler, King Tamar (12th century). The bridge spans about 20 meters in length and stands at a height of 6 meters. Take a stroll across it, capture some photos, and proceed towards the waterfall.
Makhuntseti Waterfall is tucked away in the depths of the rocks and is considered one of the highest waterfalls in Ajara, measuring 48 meters. It's a source of pride for local residents, who believe that bathing in its waters has rejuvenating effects.
Along the road and near the waterfall, you can purchase local honey. Additionally, there's a restaurant close to the waterfall where visitors can indulge in bioproducts and savor the delicious cuisine of Adjara.
