Shkhara summit(5201 m)

Shkhara stands as the highest point in Georgia and is the third-highest peak in the Greater Caucasus Mountains, ranking behind Mount Elbrus and Dykh-Tau. This formidable peak is located in Upper Svaneti, at the border between Russia and Georgia, situated in the central part of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range. The mountain is renowned for its large, steep profile and is heavily glaciated, presenting formidable challenges to mountaineers.

The prominent sub-summit Shkhara West, reaching 5,068 meters, is a significant climbing objective in its own right. The traverse of the entire Bezingi Wall is recognized as "Europe's longest, most arduous, and most committing expedition," making Shkhara a notable feature in the challenging landscape of the Greater Caucasus.
