Rike Park and Aerial Cable way
Next to the Europe Square Tbilisi, Rike is a popular centrally located recreational park, with dancing fountains, children playground and beautiful surrounding of historical district. Walk down from Avlabari Merto towards the Metekhi descent. Place also can be reached from Maidan square or Shardeni street by pedestrian glass Bridge of Peace.
Rike is notable for its cable way, which connects the area to the ancient Narikala Fortress - one of the most prominent historical monument of Tbilisi.
Opened in 2012, a cable car connects the left bank from Rike Park with Narikala Fortress to the right bank of the river Mtkvari. Ketch two rabbits with one hand – take a pleasant ride to the hill top and overview the fantastic 360-degree areal panorama of the city from the large windows of the cabin. The ride takes only a few minutes. When you get out at the hill-top station turn right to the Kartli's Deda statue (Mother of Georgia), or left to the Botanical Garden, or follow steps downhill to the Narikala Fortress.
A tip: wait for the car with a sign saying 'only 5 people allowed': it has a glass floor.
