Guramishvili’s Marani
Guramishvili’s Marani is a winery steeped in history, located in the charming village of Saguramo, just a 28-kilometer drive from Tbilisi, near Mtshketa.
In the 19th century, this winery was owned by the family of the renowned Georgian writer and public figure, Ilia Chavchavadze's wife, Olga Guramishvili-Chavchavadze (1842–1927). She was not only a prominent figure in Georgian society but also a passionate advocate for education and social welfare.
Today, Guramishvili’s Marani is under the ownership of KTW (Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking), a leading producer of wines, brandies, sparkling wines, and chacha in the Caucasus region. Established in 2001, KTW combines traditional Georgian winemaking techniques with state-of-the-art technologies.
Under the stewardship of its current owners, Guramishvili’s Marani has reintroduced unique grape varieties to its vineyards and continues to produce wine and classical champagne using traditional Georgian methods. Visitors can explore the winery and indulge in tasting of the local wine varieties.
The winery also boasts a restaurant with a traditional interior, offering a delectable array of Georgian and European dishes. The combination of diverse cuisine, exquisite wine, and live music creates an unforgettable dining experience.
