Ethnographic Museum Borjgalo
Approximately 30 min drive from the Batumi center, Ethnographic Museum Borjgalo is owned by the Georgian artist Mr. Kemal Turmanidze - a prominent master of special wood carving techniques, who devoted 30 years of his life to creating this intimate and heartwarming museum.
Mountain villages of Adjara, Khulo, Kheda, Shuakhevi on South-West Georgia are distinguished for its agriculture, folkloric and artistic history; The study of the local ancient traditions encouraged Mr. Kemal Turmanidze to create this crafts museum which is set on 3000 sq. meter yard with relevant open area infrastructure, green landscape and 11 m waterfall. The artifacts tell the story of Adjarian village lifestyle during the past century, mostly through the models of residential and agricultural constructions and workmanship, industrial farming, woodcarving, Every exhibit has its own history behind it, told by a competent guide revealing compelling details about Adjarian people, culture, customs and traditions.
