From here, we can easily reach former Vorontsov square and Saarbrucken Bridge. Cross the bridge to walk through the daily flea market. Mshrali Khidi is the local name of flea market, which translates from Georgian as “dry bridge”. Handicrafts, arts, paintings and antics are displayed on the roadway, in the park and along the bridge. You can find old books, stamps coins, even daggers and swords mixed with icons and felt. At the end of the bridge, we pass by Dedaena Park and approach Orbeliani Palace – the residence of Georgian president. Nearby we encounter a flower market.
The old city wall and entrance to Kala are near Pushkini street. From here, we walk towards Gabriadze Puppet Theater and its watchtower. Try to reach the tower for midday as the popular Tbilisi melody is played by the puppets at 12:00.
Walk on Chakhrukadze street – we are inside the old city wall, this district is called Kala. Stop for a few minutes at Anchiskhati basilica- the marvelous 6th c. building and observe frescoes inside. The narrow street takes us to the King Erekle II square and glass Bridge of Peace. Enjoy the panoramic view of the entire old town from this modern bridge - Narikala Fortress, Sulphur Bathhouse district, Meidani. Afterward, we cross the bridge for the aerial ropeway. Continue walking to Rike park towards the Cable car. The cabin goes up to fort on the hill top.
Take a few minute ride by a cable car and enjoy breathtaking views of Old Tbilisi. From the top of the station there is a pass to Tbilisi Botanical Garden and old city wall. The monument Mother of Georgia -"Kartlis Deda" is nearby.
