Wine Tour in Adjara Mountains
A full-day private wine trip in the highlands of the Adjara region offers the perfect escape from the bustling summer atmosphere of Batumi. Adjara is renowned as one of the micro-zones within the broader Black Sea coastal viticulture region. During this excursion, you'll have the opportunity to explore indigenous grape varieties, traditional Georgian wine-making techniques, and delve into the art of Georgian food and wine pairing, all in a single day. Your itinerary includes visits to three esteemed wineries: Ilia's Wine Cellar, Shervashidze Marani, and Chateau Iveri.

CHIKUNETI- SHERVASHIDZE WEINGUT-CHÂTEAU IVERI
Driving distance 137 km (3 h 38 min )
One hour drive to the village Chikuneti located in Machakhela canyon at the Machakhela National Park (36 km from Batumi). Ilia’s Family preserved Winery founded in X-XII c.c . Enjoy the atmosphere of Adjarian traditional village, magnificent views from the vineyards, taste wine and head back to Adjaristskali valley.
Drive to Shervashidze Marani. The village is named by First of May (260m altitude), Keda Municipality. Vineyards are cultivated in 1.5 hectares around the winery. Family produces: Chkhaveri, Tsolikouri, Ojaleshi, Black Pinot and other wines. Lunch and wine tasting will be provided by hosts.
The next spot is Chateau Iveri at Varjanisi village, Keda municipality. The winery aims to revive indigenous viticulture in the region by cultivating local grape varieties and continuing wine making traditions. Excursion starts by visiting the vineyards and the introduction of local winemaking methods. Taste three glasses of Organic Wines - one white and two red (Tsolikauri, Chkhaveri, Satsuri).
Drive Back to Batumi.

- masterclass of Georgian wine and cheese tasting is arranged here. At the end of the tour, get acquainted with the Georgian wine and cheese history, how to pair Georgian cuisine with its wine, and learn characteristics of bio-organic wine.
