Private tour Glimpse of Georgia is designed to explore nature and important cultural monuments along Georgian Military road in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The tour includes 2 overnights in the Great Caucasus Mountain resort Gudauri and 2 overnights in capital city Tbilisi.
Travel to Kazbegi National Park, mountainous province of Khevi, ancient capital town of Mtskheta with its UNESCO Sites Svetitskoveli and Jvari, Ananuri Architectural Complex and Zhinvali Reservoir.

Travel agent will greet you in Tbilisi international airport at the arrival hall holding the nameboard. After meet and greet, individual transfer to the hotel and check in assistance will be provided.

After breakfast at the hotel, start Tbilisi half day city tour. First, visit is one of the tallest orthodox churches Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (Sameba). Splendid panorama of Mtatsminda mount and the city will open up from the yard of a church. Excursion will take about 30 minutes.
After Sameba let’s head to Tbilisi Historical district to the Europe square and Rike park. Ride to the Narikala Fortress by an aerial cable car. Narikala fort is situated on the opposite side of the River Mtkvari on the hill top and overlooks the central districts of Tbilisi. 3 minutes fly above the river is gorgeous feeling!
Stroll down hills to the Botanical street, the Mosque, Sulfur Bathhouse district and visit to the LegvtaKhevi canyon and a small natural waterfall falling from 22 m.
After this short Tbilisi tour drive to the North. First stop is 19 km away from the capital. UNESCO World Heritage Site Jvari Monastery (6th c.) is overlooking the area from the hilltop. Look around, feel the calmness of Kartli mountains and enjoy the panorama of Aragvi and Mtkvari valleys.
Continue the way along the Georgian Military road towards the mountainous region of Khevi. On the way stop at the Zhinvali Reservoir and visit Ananuri Fortress, built in the 16th 17th c.c. Ananuri stronghold consists of the fortress, two churches and residential building of Aragvi Eristavi dukes.
In the evening arrive to Gudauri (2196 m).

On the way to Kazbegi make several stops: at observation platform of Peace Monument, the Jvari Pass (2395 m level) – the highest point on the road, pinkish travertine mount and mineral spring, and villages Kanobi, Arsha and Sioni.
Afterwards, arrive to Stephantsminda, the center of Kazbegi municipality. Start hike to Mount Gergeti – the round trip will take approximately 2.5 hours. On the top of the mountain (2010 m ) visit medieval Gergeti Trinity Church, (14th c.), overlooking white river clouds streaming from the Dariali Canyon. This is the starting point for Alpinist to Mountain Peak Kazbegi (5054m). Sometimes, His Majesty the glacier will open up his top under the thick curtains of mystical clouds. Breathtaking place!
The distance from Stephantsminda to the northern frontier of Georgian-Russian border Larsi is only fourteen kilometers. The narrow pass through Dariali Gorge follows Terek River and brings us to the border and St. Archangels’ Michael and Gabriel church.
Another short hike today is arranged towards Gveleti waterfalls.
In the evening drive to Sno Valley and see large megalith stone sculptures carved by local artist Merab Piranishvili.
Dinner and overnight in Gudauri hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and return to Tbilisi. About two hours’ drive is needed to reach the capital.
Before entering Tbilisi, make a stop in Mtskheta – the former capital of Eastern Georgian kingdom Iberia. Walk in medieval streets and visit the masterpiece of Georgian renaissance Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th c..
Tbilisi City sightseeing includes walking Rustaveli Avenue, Freedom Square, Pushkini Street, pedestrian glass Bridge of Peace, King Erekle II and Shardeni Streets, Meidan square and the old town, full of souvenir shops, outdoor cafes and art galleries scattered around.
Finish the tour on Mtatsminda park – the highest point in Tbilisi (770m). We can ride the funicular cable train. Amazing panorama opens in front of you.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Transfer to Tbilisi Airport for Departure.
