The private tour takes you to the magnificent views of picturesque valleys and historical monuments. Enjoy easy trekking in David Gareja semi-desert and visit the cave monastery complex. Take a walk in Signagi, also known as the “City of love” and surrounded by 18th c. defensive wall. Drive through the valley of river Alazani, and enjoy the sightseeing of the ancient historical monuments in KakhetiGremi Royal Residence and Castle, Alaverdi Cathedral and monastic complex of New and Old Shuamta.

Itinerary


Day to day

Morning pick-up from the hotel and departure from Tbilisi to the eastern province of Georgia Kakheti. We are going to drive to David Gareja semi-desert, partially through ground roads. Have excursions to the David Gareja caves and monastery of Lavra, built in the 6th c. Monastery has been founded by one of the  Assyrian fathers who arrived in Georgia in order to spread Christianity.
We are going to have a 2-3 hour easy trekking (upward climb - 200 m., max elevation - 875 m.) and a picnic lunch near the caves.
After picnic drive to Bodbe – a monastic complex located near town Signagi. Bodbe monastery was built in the 9th c. and was significantly renovated in 17th c. Nowadays, monastery is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia. The relics of the female evangelist St. Nino are rested in Bodbe.
Afterwards visit Signagi – often referred as the “City of Love”, town is located on the hills of Gombori Mountains, at the heart of Kakheti region, overlooking the valley of river Alazani. The 18th c. defensive curtain walls surround the town. Enjoy the beautiful views over Kakheti valleys and Caucasus Mountains.
Dinner and overnight in Sighnaghi.

After breakfast at the guesthouse drive to Tsinandali and visit house-museum of Alexander Chavchavadze (Georgian public figure and nobleman). Museum has a decorative garden from 19th c. Here Chavchavadze entertained foreign guests with music, and the finest wines made at Tsinandali winery. Have an excursion at the museum and taste a glass of the Tsinandali cellar wine.
From Tsinandali drive to Telavi – administrative center of Kakheti and an old royal town. Visit the remains of the old capital of the Kingdom of KakhetiGremi, dating back to the 16th-17th cc. The Church of the Archangels and the royal citadel are the main surviving architecture from the medieval town. 
Afterwards, head to the Twin’s Wine Cellar and Museum in Napareuli. Take an excursion to the local wine museum, which presents the wine fermenting process. Have a lunch at Twin’s restaurant, which offers traditional Georgian dishes. There is an optional wine tasting available for an additional fee.
From the winery continue to another important monuments nearby – Alaverdi monastery and Ikalto monastery and academy dating back to the 6th century.
On the way back to Tbilisi pay a visit to Shuamta monastic complex, comprised of 2 parts: Old Shuamta of 5th - 7th c. and New Shuamta 16th c.
Evening arrival in Tbilisi.

Cancellation is free of charge prior 31 days of the starting day.
-    The booking deposit 30 Euro is non-refundable in case of cancellation of the tour after booking has been confirmed. The fee is kept as a deposit on the Tourist’s account for future booking(s).

If Tourist cancels the booked tour for some reasons not depending on Tour Operator, the following sums are kept back as a fine:
-    10% of total cost of tourist product in case of cancellation 30 days prior to the tour;
-    50% of total cost of tourist product in case of tour cancellation 15-7 days prior to the tour;
-    90% of total cost of tourist product in case of tour cancellation 7 and fewer days prior to the tour;
-    99% of total cost of tourist product due to the Tourist's failure to appear at the airport no more than 2 hours prior to departure or non-admission on the flight owing to circumstances beyond the Tour Operator's controls.
