After breakfast drive to Tsinandali and visit the house-museum of Alexander Chavchavadze (Georgian poet and nobleman). The Museum has a decorative garden from 19th c. Here Chavchavadze entertained guests with music, and with the finest wines made at Tsinandali winery. Have an excursion at the museum and taste a glass of the Tsinandali cellar wine.
From Tsinandali drive to Telavi – administrative center of Kakheti and an old royal town. Batonistsikhe - the palace of Great King Erekle II is located on the main square. Visit the palace and continue to the remains of another old capital of Kakheti Kingdom– Gremi, dating back to the 16th-17th cc. The beautifully painted Church of the Archangels and the royal citadel are the main landmarks in this medieval town.
Afterward, head to the Twin’s Wine Cellar and Museum in Napareuli. Take an excursion to the local wine museum, which presents the wine fermenting process.
Have lunch at Twin’s restaurant, which offers traditional Georgian dishes. There is an optional wine tasting available for an additional fee.
From the winery continue to another important monuments nearby – Alaverdi monastery and Ikalto monastery and academy dating back to the 6th century.
On the way back to Tbilisi pay a visit to Shuamta monastery hidden in the forest.
