Sights to Visit

Itinerary

Day to day

Morning pick-up from the hotel and departure to Kakheti province. Our first stop is Signagi – a town overlooking the Alazani valley from the hills and surrounded by the medieval curtain walls. Take a short walk in Signagi, and afterwards drive to Velistsikhe and visit local wine cellar and museum of Numisi.
Have a lunch in Numisi and taste red and white Kvevri wines.
Trip continues to Kvareli. You are going to visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel dug out in the flank of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, and taste amazing European wines. The temperature in the Tunnel stays ideally at 12-14°C throughout the year. It integrates two main tunnels, which are linked by 13 galleries. The total length of the tunnels is 7.7 km.
From there, continue to Telavi – an administrative centre of Kakheti. Here you are going to have a dinner at a local guesthouse with homemade Kvevri wines.
Dinner and Overnight at Telavi family guesthouse.

After breakfast, continue the exploration of Kakheti. First, visit local farmers’ market at Telavi, where you can purchase local fruits, homemade wine, Georgian vodka “Chacha”, cheese and bread, Georgian traditional sweet – “Churchkhela”, and fresh fruits.
From Telavi, continue to Tsinandali village and visit the residence of a Kakheti nobleman, poet and public figure, and founder of the first wine factory Alexander Chavchavadze. Take an excursion in the house-museum and smack a glass of finest Tsinandali cellar white wine.
Continue to Gremi Royal Residence and Castle. This architectural monument – the church of the Archangels and the citadel, is the only surviving part of once flourishing town of Gremi – the capital of Kakheti Kingdom during 16-17th cc.
Drive to Napareuli village, where Twin’s Wine Cellar and Museum is located. The museum shows the process of Georgian traditional winemaking procedure, as well as other artifacts connected to the local winemaking culture.
Have a lunch in Twin’s Wine Cellar in a comfortable retro-style family restaurant with five different types of Kvevri wines.
In the evening, drive back to Tbilisi.
