8-day private tour “Flavor of Georgia” takes you to the different parts of the country – from the east to the west. Travelers can enjoy sightseeing in the capital Tbilisi, visit 4 monuments listed among the World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO in Mtskheta and Kutaisi, have an excursion in Prometheus cave and ancient complex of Uplistsikhe, and enjoy leisure time on the shores of the Black Sea.
The trip is designed for private groups, families and travelers who prefer tours guided by the professional and experienced staff.

Itinerary


Day to day

Meeting at the airport. Transfer to Tbilisi.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

In the morning after breakfast we begin the full day sightseeing tour by visiting the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi – the tallest church in Georgia. From cathedral we move to the old district of Tbilisi. We are going to walk on the Shardeni street and visit Caravanserai (the History museum of Georgia) that has a rich collection of modern exhibits.  Our Tbilisi city tour continues to other attractions of the city center – Sioni cathedral, church built in the 13th c., Erekle II street full of nice outdoor cafes, bars and art galleries, modern glass Bridge of Peace and ancient Narikala fortress, built on the hills in the 4th c., which can be reached by the cable car from Rike Park. From Narikala we walk down to the old city and visit Jumah mosque, little canyon and waterfall in Legvtakhevi, and continue towards the Sulfur bathhouse district. Tbilisi old city tour finishes at the Maidan square.
As a last activity of the Tbilisi city tour, we drive to the Open Air Museum of Ethnography,  which exhibits 14 different ethnographic zones of Georgia: Kartli, Adjara, Imereti, and others.

On day 3 after breakfast at the hotel we head to explore Kartli and Imereti regions. We drive on a western highway to Gori town, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and visit his museum that consists of the memorial house, exposition building with tower and Stalin’s personal coach with interior.
From Gori, we drive to Uplistsikhe – the oldest cave complex in Georgia, dated back to the 1st millennium BC. Excursion in Uplistsikhe caves will take approximately an hour. Afterwards we drive to Imereti region through the Rikoti Pass. On the way we can make couple of stops at the small town Surami and village Shrosha. These areas are well known for their traditional bakeries and pottery production.
Later we arrive in Kutaisi, the administrative center of Imereti region. We take an easy evening walk to Bagrati Cathedral, built in the 11th c. Built during the Georgian Golden Age, cathedral is located on the hill in the center of the city and is considered as a symbol of Kutaisi.
Overnight in Kutaisi.

After breakfast at the hotel we start a full day Kutaisi city tour. The first site that we are going to visit is Gelati Monastery and Academy complex. Built during the Georgian Golden Age, the complex compounds of one central cathedral, several little churches, academy building and tomb of the most prominent king of Georgia – David IV the Builder, who founded this complex in the 12th century. We can also visit Motsameta – a little monastic complex surrounded with green and rocky mountains is located near Gelati.
We continue our tour to Tskaltubo and pay a visit to Prometheus Cave. 1200 meters long karst cave with 5 different halls is rich of stalactites, stalagmites and other karst figures that have been forming for millions of years.
From Prometheus cave we drive back to Kutaisi.
Overnight in Kutaisi.

After breakfast at the hotel drive towards the Black Sea, to coastal Batumi city –the administrative center of Adjara region. On our way before arrival in Batumi we visit Batumi Botanical Garden. Batumi Botanical Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in the former Soviet Union, stretching on 111 ha and consisting of nine different floristic sectors. The garden collection is comprised of 2037 taxonomic units of ligneous plants, including 104 of Caucasian origin.
From the botanical garden we continue our trip to the ancient Gonio fortress – a castle that served as a well-fortified city of Romans on the territory of historical Colchis in the 2nd century AD.
From Gonio we drive to Batumi and take an evening walk in old and new boulevards of the city.
Overnight in Batumi.

After breakfast at the hotel we start Batumi city sightseeing tour. First we visit Piazza square at the heart of old Batumi districts, with the statues of Jason and Medea – famous characters from Greek mythology linked to the quest of Argonauts and Golden Fleece in Kingdom of Colchis, present-day western Georgia. We can also visit the moving sculpture of ‘Ali and Nino’ by Tamara Kvesitadze, and spend leisure time in the evening between the different lights and dancing fountains on Batumi Boulvard.
Overnight in Batumi.

After breakfast at the hotel we depart for Tbilisi. On our way we make a stop at the town of Mtskheta for a sightseeing tour. Mtskheta is an ancient town and historical capital of Georgia that lies at the confluence of the two rivers – Mtkvari and Aragvi. We are going to visit two of the major monuments of MtskhetaSvetitskhoveli cathedral, built in the 11th c., and Jvari monastery, built in the 7th c. Both of these monuments have been included in the World Heritage Site list by UNESCO.
In the evening, after Mtskheta tour we drive to Tbilisi.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Have breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tbilisi International Airport for departure. End of service.

Cancellation is free of charge prior 31 days of the starting day.
-    The booking deposit 30 Euro (or a special sum for group tours and half day tours) is non-refundable in case of cancellation of the tour after booking has been confirmed. The fee is kept as a deposit on the Tourist’s account for future booking(s). 

If Tourist cancels the booked tour for some reasons not depending on Tour Operator, the following sums are kept back as a fine:
-    10% of total cost of tourist product in case of cancellation 30 days prior to the tour;
-    50% of total cost of tourist product in case of tour cancellation 15-7 days prior to the tour;
-    90% of total cost of tourist product in case of tour cancellation 7 and fewer days prior to the tour;
-    99% of total cost of tourist product due to the Tourist's failure to appear at the airport no more than 2 hours prior to departure or non-admission on the flight owing to circumstances beyond the Tour Operator's controls.
